Geography at University of Leicester is part of the wider School of Geography, Geology and the Environment. They offer a range of outreach activities spanning all of these disciplines, from human geography through to palaeontology.
Events and lectures
Webinars
They run webinar sessions throughout the academic year, usually in the autumn and New Year periods. They aim to provide a range of sessions covering topics across Geography and Geoscience. Recent sessions have included:

A-Level themed sessions, in-class or online, with Q&A
University of Leicester offers a range of subject talks shaped around themes from the A-level geography curricula.
- Globalization and Global Governance, Changing Spaces, Making Places: Energy transitions, urban politics, Latin America, digital geographies, geographies of health, wellbeing and mobilities
- Carbon and Water Cycles, Landscape Systems: Contemporary climate change, biodiversity, climates of the ice ages, tropical environments, desert environments, tropical rainforests, tropical oceans and coral reefs
- Landscape Systems, hazards, plate tectonics: Earth structure and plate tectonics, volcanic and earthquake hazards

Girls into Geoscience Junior
This is an online event allowing years 7, 8 and 9 the opportunity to discover geosciences through pre-session worksheets, a live experiment, taster lectures, and a live Q&A. The session typically lasts for two hours and covers a wide spectrum of geoscience topics. Individuals and schools welcomed. Contact schools@le.ac.uk

Open days
They run open days throughout the summer (usually July) and autumn (September-November). These include subject talks for Geography, Environmental Science and Geology degrees, as well as tours demonstrations and a chance to talk to staff one-on-one.
