Organised jointly with theÌýGeography of Health Research GroupÌý(GHRG), this event took place as part of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)'sÌý. Contributors discussed:

• the impacts of the economic downturn upon individuals' and local communities' health - both physical and mental

• what challenges long-term worklessness poses

• how these challenges vary across the UK andÌýhow geography matters

• case-studies seeking to address these challenges.
